Part of their "Blue Series," Isabelle, named after the birth of Jim’s daughter in 1995, was first top end Pinot Noir that was a blend from different locations, 6 in 2015. Ruby, Aromas of berry fruits with citrus, herbs & floral notes, aged for 2 years in new French Oak. On the palate layers of gentle ripe fruit flavors of raspberry and cherry with citrus and oak wrapped in gentle spice. Wine has great depth, soft tannins, well integrated, savory, long ending with a nice mouthfeel. Very Nice! Last bottle! — 5 years ago
Damn! Velvety body, baking spices, long finish with caramel notes and bright acidity to balance it — 6 years ago
Nice slight fizz. Bright fruit. Medium body. Easy drinking. — 7 years ago
Stellar. Earthy, elegant, and layered. Stewed strawberries and dried cherries with a little peat. A special bottling made for Michael Mina. It’s a shame there isn’t more of it. — 7 years ago
Amazing that this is 9.5% because it's so easy to drink a 750mL bottle. It really is wine quality. I have a hard time identifying the nose on beers but it reminds me of being inside the cow feed silo as a kid. It smells like late summer harvest left to ferment.
It's a very clean taste of...... Wheat grass? — 2 years ago
Wonderful example.
Nose displays hazelnut, brioche and beeswax. Palate is perfectly balanced and weighted. Honied white fruits combine with moderate acidity, and subtle oak. Whether it’s chard or pinot, ABC has a great wine portfolio, at a modest price.
And yes, drinking mid-week - we broke down like old deck chairs - guilty as charged 😔 — 5 years ago

ABC made Pinot in Santa Barbara for 30 years, still hand picks & sorts heavily in the vineyard, open top fermenters allowing “punch down” by hand. Top Pinot’s never pumped, only moved by gravity & age in new French Oak. ABC Pinot is basically same since 1982. Lively, big blue fruit aromas & sweet spice, aged for 2 years French oak, 25% new. Palate sweet dark berry fruits, cacao & cola notes, nice mouthfeel. Soft tannins, easy drinking now, lingering ending with a fruit character. Nice! Tasting Sample! — 6 years ago
Silkier, spicier than the Santa Barbara. — 6 years ago
Really digging these Santa Barbara Chardonnays...I got underripe melon, pineapple, honeysuckle and white flowers...maybe white peper...med/+ butta.. mid + oak..med- alc/med+ acid...ate with shrimps. Pretty good, but would go with another grow site(ones that had more overripe melon) — 7 years ago
