Winery located in Alba, the Piedmont region was founded by its namesake in 1881. Great Grandson, Pio Boffa, continues the tradition of innovative wine making. ‘12 was a difficult but PC did well. Aromas of fresh dark berry fruits & herb notes. Cherry, plum and minty flavors, some licorice and cacao, well balanced with young tannins. Complex lingering finish ending with nice earthy notes. Enjoyable now but needs more time. — 8 years ago

We got fooled on this one. So musty-dusty smelling that we thought it was corked or bad, so we just set it on the counter. The next night we tried it again for kicks and decided we should decant and see what we have. Good decision! Triple decanted and let it sit for awhile. We would have waited another day if we could, but had other plans so went ahead and drank it. Five hours later it was still opening. Next time we'll probably open it the night before and double decant and let it sit all day. We didn't get the raisin flavor this time. Dry and lots of leather. Delish!! — 9 years ago
