This is very ripe and sweet tasting Cabernet. Long in the mouth but for European palates probably 'ott' in terms of the sweetness of fruit. The oakiness did blow off after a while, blackberry , blueberry and cassis predominate. It will last ok, maybe 10 years or so, but the tannins are so ripe that they are practically unnoticeable. — 10 years ago

If you have to drink a 2011 Napa Cabernet, this is the one. Overcomes the flimsiness and off-centered taste of many of its peers. Blueberry, suggestive of Alexander Valley cabs, is present in spades, and wonderful, smooth, and satisfying midpalate and finish. — 10 years ago

Deep purple glass with violet rim. Medium nose obscured by high alcohol 15.5% with blackberry, blueberry, tobacco, smoke, cola, vanilla and mint. On palate, well balanced tobacco, black pepper, chocolate and smoke. Young medium tannins leads to a long finish of dark chocolate, coffee and mint/pepper. This is astonishing. Beautiful and powerful with a smoky, oaky, black-fruity, spicy nose that won't quit. Palate is rich with loads of fruit, sweet vanilla oak, and a port-like quality. This wine has monastrell's blueberry, black fruit, iron tincture, and beef blood signature. Skip the steak and pair this with savory for foods for a fantastic contrast.
