2000 Cheval Blanc with a blend of almost 50:50 Merlot & Cabernet Franc, even though some reports say 53:47 dominate Merlot (not all CB are dominate CF). Tasted with 03, 05, 05 and I had this vintage a few years back, and I must say the tannins have come a long way- lush, almost melts into the wine. Explosion of blueberry and cassis with tarragon, smoked meats, and bark. Even though it is such a pleasure now I have a feeling it has a lot more to give. — 10 years ago

If you have to drink a 2011 Napa Cabernet, this is the one. Overcomes the flimsiness and off-centered taste of many of its peers. Blueberry, suggestive of Alexander Valley cabs, is present in spades, and wonderful, smooth, and satisfying midpalate and finish. — 8 years ago

Evolved in the glass considerably over three hours! Took 30 min to leave tight tannins into a beautiful blueberry, cassis, and blackberry with luscious, velvety tannins and subtle eucalyptus and cedar. Was delicious! 2 hours later, went to raisins, prunes and alcohol. — 9 years ago
