Nose of mushroom and compost, leather, tar, vanilla and blackberry pie. Spicy on the tongue, with almost bitter cherry and blueberry skin. Dark chocolate and mocha strike on the mid palate with minerality to finish. Plush yet elegant. Drank side by side with ‘09 - prefer the ‘10. Alcohol stays in balance on this vintage, subtle oak notes show to finish. Drink now with a splash decant. — 4 years ago
Yes, a little hint of blueberry on the finish. — 5 years ago

Thia is a great merlot.. I am very much a cab drinker and find a good merlot rare for me anyway and this was so surprisingly nice great full jammy body and a long lingering finish huge ripe blueberry pie flavor and a little cedar and morello cherry wonderful! No decanting necessary:) — 8 years ago
A wonderful distinctive cab loaded with black fruit character, blueberry most noteworthy. 2011 was a weaker year for the winery but even an off vintage shows wonderfully from this top notch producer. — 9 years ago
Strong blueberry on the nose. Full bodied with vanilla and chocolate on the palate. So delicious. Highly recommended. — 10 years ago

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon by La Jota is a seductive blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8.5% Cabernet Franc, 7.5% Merlot, 6% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot which was aged for 22 months in 65% new French oak prior to bottling. Needing more than a two hour decant at this juncture, the wine takes on glorious creme de cassis, Turkish coffee, blueberry cordial and wild thyme aromatics. The palate shows marvelous complexly and range. Black tea, blueberry compote, mocha and blackberry pie flavors all beautifully mingle in the glass. Rich and layered, this hedonistic effort will cellar marvelously for decades. Be sure to give this at least a two hour decant if enjoying in its youth. Drink 2020-2045- 95 — 5 years ago
Ridge Wine Dinner. Almost opaque. Flamboyant nose with notes of black cherry, blueberry, light smoke and walnuts. Still primary. Great finish with perfect balance of fruit, structure and acidity. For me this was the best of the 95/05/12 MB lineup. Needs time. — 7 years ago
If you have to drink a 2011 Napa Cabernet, this is the one. Overcomes the flimsiness and off-centered taste of many of its peers. Blueberry, suggestive of Alexander Valley cabs, is present in spades, and wonderful, smooth, and satisfying midpalate and finish. — 8 years ago
Evolved in the glass considerably over three hours! Took 30 min to leave tight tannins into a beautiful blueberry, cassis, and blackberry with luscious, velvety tannins and subtle eucalyptus and cedar. Was delicious! 2 hours later, went to raisins, prunes and alcohol. — 9 years ago
2011 vintage - plum, blueberry, raspberry, nice spice .. — 9 years ago
Blackberry, blueberry, mocha, salted caramel — 10 years ago
Classic Bordeaux style blend from several estate vineyards. Aged for 19 months in French Oak. Deep Ruby with purple edges, aromas of fresh berry fruits with cedar and spice. On the palate sweet cherry, blackberry and blueberry fruit, with savory oak & cacao notes. Tannins were smooth but tight, with an earthy herb touch on the long finish. Faust wines do not disappoint, even when young. Nice! A Fav! Great Value! Tasting Sample! — 4 years ago
I have always been a huge fan of the wines produced by Charles Smith and K Vintners and this just adds fuel to the fire. Ripe blueberry, smoked meat, dark cocoa, cinnamon, tobacco just punch you in the face. Such a bold wine, very northern Rhône in style. So damn good. — 6 years ago
Deep purple color, so glad I waited to try this one, some blueberry, cassis, earth tones, spice, just a fantastic bottle of wine! — 7 years ago
Very well integ2arted. Blueberry at first...then perfectly balanced blackberry and dark floral oak characteristic nuances, none of which do battle with one another. A bow amongst each subtle player in this game of adjectives, lending to harmonious complexity — 8 years ago
So young and so delicious. Blueberry, cherry tobacco, light herbaceous notes on the nose and palate. Can't wait to taste this in years to come! — 8 years ago
This wine suited my tastes perfectly - a bold fruity nose, a medium sweetness up front, a smooth full body of cherry, blueberry, leather and blackberry to finish. Mild tannins. — 9 years ago
The '96 is a great Cab, very smooth, smells like a great blueberry jam. — 9 years ago
2000 Cheval Blanc with a blend of almost 50:50 Merlot & Cabernet Franc, even though some reports say 53:47 dominate Merlot (not all CB are dominate CF). Tasted with 03, 05, 05 and I had this vintage a few years back, and I must say the tannins have come a long way- lush, almost melts into the wine. Explosion of blueberry and cassis with tarragon, smoked meats, and bark. Even though it is such a pleasure now I have a feeling it has a lot more to give. — 10 years ago

Dark ruby coloration. On the nose, plum, cherry, blackberry, cocoa powder and spice- like a mild cumin. Reminded me of a patatas bravas sauce. On the palate full bodied and rich. On the palate, the spice and cocoa powder dominate with florals; secondary layers are present with hints of blueberry, plum, cherry, vanilla and toasted oak. Long finish with florals, berry and vanilla. Extremely elegant and complex. — 3 years ago
