This opaque and dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Grgich was great. It opens with a black raspberry and blueberry bouquet with hints of mild oak and leather. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty black currant and black cherry blend with notes of nicely integrated minerality and hints of blueberry, coffee, and oak. The finish is dry and its moderate dusty tannins linger and last for quite a while. Over the top overpowering the turkey at Thanksgiving dinner but delicious nonetheless. — 8 years ago
We were looking for a Cabernet that was young, sexy and racy to go with grilled steaks. This fit the bill. It was decanted for 2 hours prior to serving. On the nose you get graphite, blueberry, blackberry. On the palate the tannins and fruit are in balance. Beautiful young wine that will age gracefully for at least two decades. If you have this in your cellar, I would recommend opening a bottle. If you don't have this in your cellar, buy a bottle. — 9 years ago
Ridge Wine Dinner. Almost opaque. Flamboyant nose with notes of black cherry, blueberry, light smoke and walnuts. Still primary. Great finish with perfect balance of fruit, structure and acidity. For me this was the best of the 95/05/12 MB lineup. Needs time. — 9 years ago
Wonderful wine . Dark fruit flavors of blueberry, blackberry, notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Rich full bodied wine — 9 years ago

Blueberry, bloody meat, fig on the nose. Great concentration and length. Tannins does well integrated. Finish is superb. Great stuff maybe missing slight bit of secondary notes. — 6 years ago
Dark purple, magenta, rich sugar blueberry, blackberry smell, syrupy, bit too sweet I think, I wish the fruit came out more! It’s definitely a lot. — 7 years ago

Classic California cab. Soft cork. Smooth drinking taste blueberry tannins creep up on you . Just a wonderful wine — 8 years ago
Great Cab Franc but definitely needed to chill to fully enjoy... Deep garnet color with bright ruby edge. Powerful aromas of mature and complex fruits -- black currants, raspberry, sweet black plum, and blueberry. Fresh violets and notes of cedar, sandalwood, red clay and fresh mint. A velvety texture with layers of red raspberry, cocoa, jasmine tea, tobacco, and ground black pepper. 2012 is a well-structured and balanced wine, though also needs to breathe.

For a while this winery underperformed. However the 2005 is quite amazing and at its peak now. Had this with veal liver a perfect match. Elegant and restrained beautiful fresh fruit - elderberry, blueberry and also chalk & cinnamon, - tannins very well integrated.

If you have to drink a 2011 Napa Cabernet, this is the one. Overcomes the flimsiness and off-centered taste of many of its peers. Blueberry, suggestive of Alexander Valley cabs, is present in spades, and wonderful, smooth, and satisfying midpalate and finish. — 10 years ago
A classic with its soft tannins and smooth blueberry taste. Classic. Love it. — 10 years ago

This is astonishing. Beautiful and powerful with a smoky, oaky, black-fruity, spicy nose that won't quit. Palate is rich with loads of fruit, sweet vanilla oak, and a port-like quality. This wine has monastrell's blueberry, black fruit, iron tincture, and beef blood signature. Skip the steak and pair this with savory for foods for a fantastic contrast. Finish is long and playfully tasty. — 11 years ago
Licorice, blackberry, blueberry, violet, sandalwood, cedar smoke. Silky texture, full mid and the finish is incredibly long. Incredibly fun Australian syrah! — 6 years ago
Last time I had this wine was a little over two years ago. In that period of time, it has aged nicely. Blueberry and wildflowers on the nose. This bottle was a stand-in to the one that I wanted to try on my 40th birthday that was acting a little bit weird. Nothing weird about this one. Palate of blackberry, black cherry, cassis, blueberry, cinnamon baking spice. A little bit of chocolate, a little bit of leather. Black pepper to the finish. What a nice wine, and from the "bastardized" 2011 vintage to boot! Drink or hold. — 7 years ago
Yes, a little hint of blueberry on the finish. — 7 years ago
Vibrant, inky purple with youthful Aromas of blackberry, blueberry, leather, mocha, earthy violet and an undertone of dried thyme. Full bodied yet Elegant with a very long finish. Lovely wine. Purple Angel is 92% Carmenère and 8% Petite Verdot — 7 years ago
Mint, vanilla, dried herbs, leather, black tea, and blueberry. Hints of smoke and velvety finish. — 9 years ago
This wine suited my tastes perfectly - a bold fruity nose, a medium sweetness up front, a smooth full body of cherry, blueberry, leather and blackberry to finish. Mild tannins. — 10 years ago
Well, this is a departure. Purple fleurs, smoked paprika, blueberry confiture. #drinkingwithparents — 11 years ago

Dark purple with a magenta rim. Staining color. Opens up with several hours of air. Smoked meat, blueberry, and sea breeze. Bold, bruding dark fruit. Espresso, and mocha too. Savory finish with chewy tannins. Has big time scores, but feels like it is closed at this time. Hmm... perhaps hold for 5+ years. — 6 years ago
