Truly luscious and beautiful. If this wine had a Rhone label it would easily be a $100 bottle. There is a deep and lovely personality to this wine: textured, nuanced and full. — 8 months ago

Apparently this is one of the 101 wines to drink you before you die! Cinsault grape, they looked for vines over 50years in age, bit of tart cherry, well rounded, hasn't revealed itself but am excited to crack on! — 6 years ago
Tastes more like a Brunello — 7 years ago
This is the BEAUTIFUL 2018 Chateau Musar Gaston Hochar made from a blend that includes Obaideh and Merwah, indigenous white grape varieties, with a touch of Cinsault for color.
It has a deep salmon hue with complex aromas & flavors including expressive notes of licorice, anise, fennel, bruised apple, honeydew, Smarties®, dried chamomile, white tea, baked peach, lily, menthol, mint, mandarin peel, orange pith, almond skin, hazelnut, honeycomb, crushed stone, pool toy, vanilla, & acrylic paint.
On the palate this wine is dry, with crisp acidity, a creamy and textured mouthfeel, medium alcohol (12.5% ABV), and a persistent finish.
With each sip, it reveals layers, dimension after dimension. It’s a lovely, cerebral, and gastronomic wine. The culmination of history and artistry in the glass; a testament to the enduring passion, resilience, and soul of the Hochar family. — 5 months ago
2016 vintage but still has so much more time to develop. This is a fabulous wine. Lots to discover and develop here. the tannins and persistant and forward, the fruit is silky and the wine finish is persistant. — 10 months ago
Forgot to photo-quite an intriguing, fresh Syrah blend from Lebanon, like a second cousin once removed from Northern Rhone. Needs air to calm down a bit, not quite pop & pour. Punchy red fruits, medium acidity, it made for good company to Middle Eastern fare with the locals (&family) at Neni restaurant, in Amsterdam. — 3 years ago
Cool origin and story, opens up after 60 minutes — 5 years ago
Smoked meat and jam on the nose. Chewy firm tannin and pure red fruits on the palate. Awesome drinking!! — 6 years ago
Resinous and acidic with unripe currants and raw red fruits. Lovely expression of the Bekaa valley and drinking very well — 7 months ago
Blend is actually 50% Cinsault, 35% Syrah and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Very dark inky ruby color with purple highlights. Aromas of black and blue berry fruit, violets and tobacco. The rich palate features flavors of cooked black cherry, blueberry and black berry/currant fruit with notes of sweet spices and black pepper. Long and lingering finish and a lovely soft/silky texture. No sign of oak aging. Acidity is plentiful but well balanced. Quite fresh and bright! Solid QPR. — 8 months ago
