Mon dieu! This wine has an incredibly mineral-flushed nose, almost minty from all the whetstony chloride-alkaline minerals! Light ruby slightly hazy in color; medium-high acids and fine tannins, red fruit-dominated and perhaps a bit disappointing on the finish. Try in 3-5 years?! Reminiscent of good quality Chambolle with a touch more flesh and pliancy. This is stupid good for the price, when I’m old I’ll be bitching about how cheap this was back in the day. High toned, crunchy, deeply earthy and loaded with ripe red/black fruit. The finesse is there. Black cherry, wild strawberry, rhubarb compote, black tea, wildflowers, wet leaves, undergrowth, spice. Again, the elegance coupled with the perfume and harmony this carries really delivers. — 8 years ago
