Very full bodied dark red. Notes of tobacco and earthy vibes. Would recommend. — 7 years ago
Obviously a labor of love. Juicy, slightly carbonic, light, barnyard and very lively. — 8 years ago
Dense and aromatic, with ripe blackberry and cassis but no sweetness or syrup. Loads upon a loads of white pepper. Fine tannins. This has aged remarkably well. I have this sense, perhaps mistaken, that Wells basically did a stylistic about face between 2006 and 2007 but perhaps that overstated the case. — 8 years ago
Clear medium golden yellow with a greenish hue. A touch of oak on the nose with blossoms, pineapple, strong, zesty and ripe lemon. Fresher than the Sonoma Coast. Medium plus to high acidity (7/10) and medium plus to full bodied. Layered with melon, vanilla, and rich citrus zest. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2022. (92+) — 9 years ago
Just tried this in a Flight at Volo, in addition to a sample of a favorite of mine Napa Vinayards.. bought the bottle Very smooth, big flavors, spicy, cannot wait to enjoy this in Denver ! — 9 years ago
Beautiful, elegant, ripe and dry light & mid red fruits. Red licorice & cola, super soft chalkiness, round semi-sweet earth with crushed rocks, beautiful acid and long ripe elegant fruit finish. Friends of ours brought this to dinner and I'm calling the winery to buy an allocation tomorrow. — 9 years ago
Complex yet accessible. Notes of dark red fruit. Balanced. — 11 years ago
By now I can spot Pax in a lineup. Inky but feather light - nearly always sub 13% ABV. Concentrated, stripped of fruit and outside influence. Whole cluster and tart green. Youthful. New world with a nod to old world.
Testa fits. Lean, restrained, with a ruby purple. BlackBerry and crushed rock. — 7 years ago
My favorite of their reds. Lots of plum flavors. Would be awesome with food. — 7 years ago
This really hit the spot with our grilled shrimp and vegetables. Honeysuckle, toasted honey, apples, maybe some lees? Refreshing, complex for a white, and a great balance of fruit, inorganics, and acid. Top notch if you’re looking for an Italian style white! — 8 years ago
Dry with taste of berries. After taste goes away after a couple sips. — 9 years ago
Probably the most exciting wine I've had from California or maybe the U.S. this year. Absolutely delicious, refreshing acidity with bright, soft blackberry fruit and the faintest hint of cassis on the finish. It's perfect. This is my favorite kind of wine. — 9 years ago
First vintage bottled under the new Eagle Peak AVA. Already drinking fantastic out of the bottle with a perfectly perfumed nose and a texture that tells you stems were involved during fermentation. About 15% carbonic maceration on this vintage. — 10 years ago
Opened up with supper expressive aromatics of red bramble fruit with a hint of stoniness. Juicy and open. A little grippy on the back. Another couple years and this should be hitting its stride. Always love this wine. Great value. Definitely a producer that should be better know, but is gladly sub rosa. — 10 years ago
❤️Nice pink salmon color. Aromas of underripe cherry, watermelon, cranberry and chalk. Big fan of @Banshee Wines Pinot Rosé, loads of cranberry and cherry flavors with a nice dry finish. — 7 years ago

Wine for slugging...actually they could’ve made it a little lighter on its feet now that I say that, but for $14....I actually think maybe they could’ve cut out a bunch of parts and labor in the process and it would fly even faster — 8 years ago
One of my favorite weekday wines! — 9 years ago
Strong finish of cinnamon and nutmeg. Great fall wine — 9 years ago
I was skeptical at first...inky black and 15.3 ABV, but the wine is well balanced with plenty of freshness and lift. Just the ticket with tonight's daube de boeuf. — 10 years ago

It’s interesting to me how NDavola can have the extremes of bright/zippy and dark fruits. Would like to side-by-side with spätbugunder. Intensely tart, light-bodied, yet considerable tannins. — 7 years ago
