This really hit the spot with our grilled shrimp and vegetables. Honeysuckle, toasted honey, apples, maybe some lees? Refreshing, complex for a white, and a great balance of fruit, inorganics, and acid. Top notch if you’re looking for an Italian style white! — 6 years ago
Dense and aromatic, with ripe blackberry and cassis but no sweetness or syrup. Loads upon a loads of white pepper. Fine tannins. This has aged remarkably well. I have this sense, perhaps mistaken, that Wells basically did a stylistic about face between 2006 and 2007 but perhaps that overstated the case. — 7 years ago
So good. 👌 — 7 years ago
Beautiful, elegant, ripe and dry light & mid red fruits. Red licorice & cola, super soft chalkiness, round semi-sweet earth with crushed rocks, beautiful acid and long ripe elegant fruit finish. Friends of ours brought this to dinner and I'm calling the winery to buy an allocation tomorrow. — 7 years ago
bright, beautiful acid, cool green fruit with citrus, floral notes with a bit of salinity. fun for the palate. totally gulpable. — 9 years ago

This one was a good bottle again. Lots of heft and flavor. This is what I remembered from original tasting! — 6 years ago
Probably the most exciting wine I've had from California or maybe the U.S. this year. Absolutely delicious, refreshing acidity with bright, soft blackberry fruit and the faintest hint of cassis on the finish. It's perfect. This is my favorite kind of wine. — 7 years ago
Had on Jet Blue of all places. Dry and smooth, they could have circled all day and I was ok. — 8 years ago
Oh man. Cool wine. It's almost Savoie-like in its mountain berry purity on the nose and in the mouth, but has some great grippy tannins and acid to let you know it's here. Really one of the most interesting wines (and wineries) from Sonoma. Get some while you can. Yum. — 8 years ago

Complex yet accessible. Notes of dark red fruit. Balanced. — 9 years ago
Toasty and alcohol dominant upfront, but a little decant or time in the glass and this peppery, oaky, berry petite Syrah is ended up nicely. Actually had enough glycerol flavor and structure to have some layering of flavors after 30 minutes, and would likely be even better in a couple more years. Dark fruit moves to the forefront with balanced spice and wood with some time. Not a huge wine, but really good value. — 6 years ago
Wine for slugging...actually they could’ve made it a little lighter on its feet now that I say that, but for $14....I actually think maybe they could’ve cut out a bunch of parts and labor in the process and it would fly even faster — 6 years ago
Masculine. Big. Complex with seaside overtones of brine. Firm structure. — 7 years ago
This wine drank like it was produced in Vittoria Sicily. Big funky and super earthy, lots of barnyard. Great Nero, was astonished it was produced in US. — 7 years ago
Tasty, but kind of oddly sweet? — 7 years ago
Brilliant wine from broc cellars. Great minerality and berries. Really well balanced. One of the top roses for me this year. — 8 years ago
First vintage bottled under the new Eagle Peak AVA. Already drinking fantastic out of the bottle with a perfectly perfumed nose and a texture that tells you stems were involved during fermentation. About 15% carbonic maceration on this vintage. — 8 years ago
I was skeptical at first...inky black and 15.3 ABV, but the wine is well balanced with plenty of freshness and lift. Just the ticket with tonight's daube de boeuf. — 8 years ago
Reminds me of Mauzac with the apple nose — 9 years ago
Delicious! This wine is just full of surprises as it opens up! — 9 years ago
