2019 vintage. Olivier Tropet's vineyards are mainly in the Roaix appellation, but he also produces a Rasteau. I don't know why this wine isn't labelled Roaix, maybe there is some Rasteau in here? Or maybe he doesn't want to use the Roaix appellation for his entry level Villages? This is a blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, and 20% Carignan blend from organically (and biodynamically, certified since 2022) farmed grapes. — 18 hours ago

Wifey enjoyed it, so that should tell you something. Typical St Aubun. Presents roundish (oak treatment), but as it transitions to the mid palate, there’s focus and depths. Pure notes of almonds, and white fleshy fruits. Finishes sweet. A more contemporary example from this region. — 3 years ago
