Smooth with earth and soft dark fruits. Not many tannins — 6 months ago
Orange tinged pale golden colour. Excellent pure nose of apricot, iodine and spices. Unctuous on the palate yet supported by a great backbone of acidity. Great depth of flavour and very satisfying length. A great wine by any standard. — 8 months ago
Yellow delicious apple and white peach. Very honeyed as well. This is exactly how I like my morning granola. It's been twenty years since I've been to Hungary. This is a great reminder that I've got to get back. — 5 years ago
Nearly 20 years in bottle. It is still ascending will drink well for another 15 days plus years.
From a warm vintage. Beautiful, even toned fruits with elegant earth & amazing lead pencil bloom for days.
This is approaching its peak, another 5 years from its peak.
Well resolved wine-fruits. The fruits are juicy, blackberries, black raspberries, plum skin, dark cherries & slightly, poached strawberries with a highlight of pomegranate. Mocha, dark chocolate, black tea, sandalwood, sandstone, limestone, some mushroom notes, dark, rich turned earth w/ dry leaves, dry tobacco, dry leather, dry herbs, dry stone, caramel notes, dry, withering, dark, purple & red flowers with excellent acidity, balance, tension, structure and finish for days that lasts 90 seconds. — 5 months ago
Very tasty old vine Zin! Smooth and is it, “fruit-forward”, yes that is it. — 4 years ago
Drinking well, from half bottle. No rush, probably has at least 5 yrs. — 6 years ago
Red fruit has never been as regal. The visual experience is bathed in red elegance. A hint of licorice in the nose, followed by an explosion of berries all over the place, and then the most beautiful silk as it fades into a long, subtle farewell. A beautiful surprise every time. — 7 years ago
Sour red cherries, wild strawberry, horse shit, mushrooms. Wild acidity. Years ahead of it. Fresh. Vital. — 8 years ago
Medium light lemon yellow colour . Quite open and fruit driven , lemon peel , touch of seashell and ripe apple . On the palate a bit more of the citrus fruits with some brioche and ripe apple , mineral tinged finish . Very fresh and vivid . Long mineral tinged , citrus peel finish . Showing pretty young, really fresh and fruit orientated. This is still very nice now , but will obviously benefit from further aging especially in magnum . From now on, but better in 5-10 years and will last well a further 10-15 — 5 months ago
2002 vintage. Last tasted 10.06.22 (9.4). Similar "gliding along" impressions with feminine characteristics. This bottle (nice fill, cork and decent sed) was a goody. Decanted and tasted after 5 mins, 30 mins and 2 hours. Bit more structure evident after two hours open as to be a different, yet fantastic, wine. Funny how some of these underwhelming, less than aggro wines can take on another life of their own, on their terms, by gently removing all doubt. Still another 5-7 years-easy. 11.21.24. — 5 months ago
Vintage 2016 | drank this a year ago and my opinion is the same: great balance because the wine has só much acidity that it gives counterplay to the sweet. Without food it is a wine with a lot of tension. With a home made brownie it became more rounded. Still potential for many many years. A treat. — 10 months ago
Solidly good Bordeaux Cabernet forward blend. Great value. — 4 years ago
A dang good Malbec. — 7 years ago
I plowed through a spicy sausage stuffed green pepper with this as a companion. Floral notes and an exotic sandlewood flavor. Finish was thin, but I'm not complaining — 8 years ago
2014 a little soon, but couldn't wait to try for 5 more years — 8 years ago

Medium ruby , wider light ruby rim . Touch more closed and mineral on the nose with, red currant , grafite , cedar . Quite aloof . On the palate this is quite strict , excellent refreshing acidity and very noticeable gritty tannin , more red fruits on the palate , red currant, cherry, cranberry hints alongside the cassis and mineral backbone . Very young , mineral , quite linear and saline . This shows a lot of intensity and salinity after a while in the glass , improves with time in the glass but really needs time in the cellar. Come back in 5 - 10 years , will show well for a further 10 perhaps 20 years. Very classic and aristocratic . — 5 months ago
