It's been about 10 years since I last tasted this, this is the 12/06 disgorgement and while the bead is barely detectable, the sap has remained, so what you have is a very vinous, juicy champagne that needs more time for the sweetness to taper off. The nose is pronounced intoxicating white truffles, sherry and agrumes, with some anise that I get from Beaufort. For now i say hold. — 9 years ago

The estate dates back to the Crusades, and Scottish navigator, George Smith, the owner in the 18th century. He was followed by M. Duffour-Dubergier, Mayor of Bordeaux, and then Louis Eschenauer, a famous wine shipper. In 1990, Daniel and Florence Cathiard now own the estate. Dark plum red with dark berry fruit aromas, herb and spice from young Cab vines. On the palate complex sweet black fruit flavors and cacao notes. Firm tannins, rich and full, lingering, mineral ending, unlike the ‘10 wait a few years. — 8 years ago
Slightly oxididative nose. Fine, almost creamy bubbles. A bit of lemon tart. — 8 years ago

Perfect on a warm night outside. Complex and crunchy but very easy to enjoy. — 7 years ago
No. 2 in the Vosne Romanee bracket. Some spirity oak notes. A sweetness to the palate with drying fine Tannins. Re- tasting:- Not quite up to the others in this bracket in terms of weight. A little alcoholic and clumsy in this company. My least pointed at 95 points but still a Gold Medal! — 8 years ago

In the space of a week - one bottle upon Mt. Etna the other one in Rome - I drank two different versions, both memorable, of Champagne A & J Beaufort: "Polisy Réserve Brut" and "Rosé".
Twice, for each wines, I perceived that same psychic vibration, an overwhelming feeling of spherical beauty-and-goodness. Let's imagine now these bottles as valves of an oyster in which some invisible raw material - it's only a matter of time - is deposited as calcium carbonate that crystallizes in "glass shell" (the bottles, right?) generating these true living Pearls of a champagne! — 10 years ago
