It’s a very rich style chardonnay, but it’s unapologetically delicious. Professional scores have it as high as 97 and the purity of fruit along with the deft use of french oak and balanced acidity are certainly deserving. It strikes a nice balance even with everything amped up and an alcohol level of 14.6%. Only 326 cases made, if you see a bottle in the wild drink it! — 6 years ago

The 2016 Syrah Watch Hill Vineyard is dense, powerful and super-concentrated. Inky blue/purplish fruit, lavender, menthol, licorice and spice notes are all amped up in this rich, beautifully resonant Syrah. Dollops of Viognier add brightness and floral top notes, but the Watch Hill remains a pretty big, yet nuanced, wine. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2018) — 7 years ago
Not for everyone with its amped up style, but if you appreciate the Paso big boys it's delicious. A true GSM and a true Californian at 16.2% but hiding it surprisingly well. Extremely fruit forward, but decent acidity and very fine tannins to carry it through. Punched through prime T-bones with ease. — 8 years ago

Superb amped up expression of chenin in chameleon mode, hiding between waves of acid and mineral. Probably prefer to WS chardonnays most days of the week if I’m honest. — 6 years ago
Nose a bit funky like black olive, the syrah component to this wine really amped its complexity. A bit more brooding than full tempranillo crianza offerings, this has integrated notes of cedar and ripe red fruits, and that touch of earthy, savory, lightly pungent syrah in support.
Good complement to garlic toast, roasted peppers and grilled salchiccons. — 7 years ago
So dope. Almost too much of a good thing with that extra Raveneau oomph. And 05. Would add a touch of acid if I had a magic wand. But a stunning wine. Was crazy shy on first pour and then quickly became white flower paradise, beeswax and saline for days. Highly amped. Indulgent. — 9 years ago

This is one of the very best bottles of Chablis I’ve had. Intensely pleasing. Amped up. Everything I love about white wine. I am really sad that I only had one bottle but thrilled I got to experience it at its peak. — 7 years ago
If there is a notion that Cali wines are amped up old world wines, this one shows that off in the best possible away. Abundant acid, fruit and mineral all in balance. I’d order it again for sure — 8 years ago
Really awesome Chablis. In a richer style, which is further amped up by the warm vintage, yet still has that bracing, sea-spray Chablis-ness to satisfy the itch for racy salinity that you want a good Chablis to be able to scratch. Pours a bright medium (-) gold hue. High concentration of aromatics of slightly bruised green apple, lemon curd, saline sea spray, wet stone and crushed oyster shell, dogwood floral notes, fresh brioche dough and aged cheese rind leesiness, crème fraîche, and a slight fennel spice. On the palate, there's more perfectly ripe green apple, lemon curd, saline oyster shell and wet stone minerality, aged cheese rind, and crème fraîche. High acid, bone dry, medium (-) body but with a rich oily texture. Moderate, in-balance alcohol. Great length on the palate. Wonderful complexity. Would take well to a short-to-medium term cellaring but is honestly so delicious and generous now, too. Definitely want to seek out more Chablis from the De Moors. — 8 years ago

Stunning. The real deal with concentration and acidity. Not amped into Napa cab. The best wine I have had in months. — 5 years ago
