Perfect everyday white. Aromatic, fruity florals with notes of lychee, white peach, and apple blossom with a Meyer lemon candy twist. — 7 years ago
Forgot to post these from the other day. Mark, Dan and I were able to enjoy a relaxed afternoon at the wine storage facility, and some unique stuff was opened, as always!
Don’t think I’ve ever had this PM Chardonnay. Great nose of salted popcorn kernel and the finish had a mineral & stone driven note. Hint of caramel too. Probably in its best drinking window. Thanks Dan. — 8 years ago
Sheer delight. The nose is hibiscus and ruby red grapefruit. The mouth is a complex and grippy adventure with grapefruit, red papaya, lychee. This is not a NZ Sauvignon by any means, despite those notes, it's a serious thinking wine to sip for days with or without food. — 9 years ago
This was a delight... the '05 is drinking so we'll right now it felt like much more of a "special" bottle than its price point. I need more of this! Had lots of sediment... def. decant for an hour or more. — 9 years ago
The peppery finish is such a delight. So great. — 10 years ago
Bolly! Fantastic sunny afternoon, lunchtime BBQ in the back yard...

This 1996 needed a little time to open up Once it did, it was a true delight. Of course, my husband’s charm make the wine a big winner — 7 years ago

How else to warm up for a trade tasting of invigorating Champagne this afternoon? Penetrating Sercial Madeira from the year that brought us the Boy Scouts of America. If wine were merit badges perhaps I'd nearly be an Eagle by now... After this evening's tasting I'll have quite a heavy merit badge sash for Champagne -an obsession that can reach no surfeit -it becomes more fascinating and evermore nuanced. For the moment however I'm awash in crushed kumquats in honey, marmalade, hazelnuts and roast peanuts -all layered among so much more in one of the richest Sercial Madeiras I've tried to date. — 10 years ago
Moving fuel. 42 year old Tempranillo and a uniquely American delicacy to celebrate Independence Day 🧀 🇺🇸 I’m unpacking boxes and listening to the Padres vs Dodgers so other than the wine I’m full throttle Americana today. The Vina Todonia cork dropped in to the bottle immediately upon contact from the Durand so I was not hopeful....but it’s totally intact and it presents with significant bricking in the decanter with expected brown and red tones and is chock full of secondary notes of burnt fig, savory smoke, cigar and soil. Soft tannins and waning acidity but it seems to be putting on “weight” as the afternoon progresses. Another solid showing from this producer at an advanced age. Great stuff. Happy 4th of July to all!! 🍎 ⚾️ 🍷 ☀️ — 7 years ago
A delight. Ocean saltiness, a hint of tropical fruit, good body and acidity. — 7 years ago

Beautiful aperitif on a hot afternoon. — 9 years ago
Love this high acid green apple bomb! Crisp and well balanced. Light citrus on the nose with a lingering lime on the palate. What a great Sunday afternoon sipper we have here! — 9 years ago
