Tasted 2007 vintage in 2015. This wine is Garnet coloured with a brick hue. Aromas of chocolate covered acai berry, dried fig, sun dried prunes. Palate of dried fig and blueberry jam. Long Finish and persistence of fig jam and crushed blueberry compote. This wine is rich and juicy with supple fruit and medium tannins. Drink now. Enjoy with Szechuan shrimp, osso bucco, Parmesan crusted risotto. — 10 years ago

Bright blueberries and acai berries and some pepper and floral elements followed by blue and more blue. This wine is pretty dry but delicious. — 11 years ago
Some brett on the nose which blew off quickly. Then dark cherry, acai and pomegranate with chalky elements - an excellent classic burgundy from a good vintage with the elegance expected from a Chambolle - well worth the wait. Over dinner at Ponsaty's in Rancho Santa Fe. — 8 years ago
Coffee, dark berries. Reminded of brookside chocolate covered Acai berries with coffee. Pretty solid after 30 minutes. — 9 years ago
As I drink the wine, it's very obvious how it is old world by how much iron/graphite comes across the palate. Usually my tongue doesn't dry out from a wine more than my cheeks.. So that was cool! This was just opened at the perfect time. This is like on the peak of its peak and still has finesse to it. Acai berry on the nose and very limited on the palate. Tonight just totally changed my opinion on thinking Merlot was overrated and this wine was phenomenal. — 9 years ago
Deep violet floral and acai berries- cocoa and vanilla- touches of baking spice and crushed blueberries...thinking Rib Eye with a Chimichurri rub....outstanding... — 9 years ago

I have quite a number of these, and thank goodness! I feel a little weird opening up one of these bottles as a 2016, but I keep telling myself to FOCUS....this bottle is victim to EXPERIMENT! Compared to previous Silver Eagles, this one IMO seems to have more of a dried floral and acai berry type of nose than the other years that really went more to a dirty raspberry. However, the entry of this wine seems to be a touch less rounded and a little less 'sweet.' The middle of this wine has incredible balance that really shines with food and becomes more delicate without. The finish of this wine has some acidity, getting more black cherry and black tea on the finish. Overall I don't get as much acidity as I had with the 16 SC PN. Definitely keeping the others in the cellar a little while longer. — 8 years ago
