Mulled and grilled dark fruit nose with charred fruit notes. Big dark fruit forward on the palate transitioning to molasses and caramel. A medium acid finish with the molasses lingering. It can use decanting to open up. Like most Zins, this wine cries out for a food pairing, and is too fruity for my tastes as a stand-alone sipping red. — 6 years ago

The wine is a great aperitif with a mineral-driven citrus nose and flavors of grapefruit and lemon in a crisp, fresh acidity. 13.5% abv, Verdelho grape, from Alentejo region in the central-south part of Portugal.
