Wonderful aperitif for our 8 course tasting extravaganza to benefit JDRF! — 10 years ago
Oh my god! What a wonderful dessert wine.
Burnt orange color with a copper hue and a pale yellow/orange rim. Color in the bottle is more brown than orange.
Immensely strong nose of curry, indian spices (as if you walked into an Indian restaurant), cinnamon, coffee, brandy, orange peel, tumurac, raisins, figs and dates.
Extremely smooth and soft on the palate, with figs, raisins, dates, coffee, sweet candy, citrus and sweet cherries.
Sweet, Full bodied, bold and buttery with great legs. It actually tastes like a liquor would, without the alcohol burn.
Long finish with a trace of brandy.
17% alcohol.
The high acidity makes this sweet dessert wine, very balanced and non cloying.
Poured from a 375ml bottle.
This is a non vintage bottle, but I held it for 8 years in my cellar, and boy does it show... — 10 years ago
Green and stemmy with exotic oak spices. Cardamom and garam masala. Damp wet barrel. Good balance! Complex and well integrated. A complete surprise that this wine is 8 years old. Lots of room to grow and open. #syrah #tinyhousetastinggroup — 10 years ago

Jameson wine from Long Island North Fork wine tasting! drank w/Ry 8/30! — 10 years ago
The 8/24/2014 Napa earthquake did what it could to ruin the label but I can still read 14% alc. on the label.
A beautiful clean (read; no jam) expression of Syrah. Just enough funk on the nose to be both varietal correct and interesting and great balance on the palate.
Count in the (ridiculous low) price and you have one helluva solid QPR.

Big call, but here's to Kumeu River Maté's Vineyard being one of the best #chardonnay in the world! What a #wine! Bright, tight & focused at 8 years of age, with apple blossoms & cinnamon stick followed up by flinty, gun smoke, sun drenched slate tiles, & the faintest whisper of lemon curd on the nose, carrying me away to memories of my youth. Once upon the palate, it boogies to an electrophoretic humming of liquid energy, bringing life, happiness & joy with it. Sapid, sexy acids whirl about playfully, skipping to an extended denouement, combining its components into one, luxuriously wondrous whole. Love it so! — 9 years ago
