2011 vintage. Light golden hue. Mineral, chalky, peaches and stone fruits to the fore. Quite ripe. On the palate, dry (probably more than 4g of residual but acidity masks the sugar), medium plus body, high alcohol, high extract, long and persistent finish and huge refreshing, tangy acidity, especially on the finish. Peaches and apricots, lemon zest from the acidity, crisp and long textured wine with real weight. Love it. More similar to an Alsatian Riesling than a Mosel/Rheingau Riesling, and although weighty, no noticeable TDN notes or lime juice zest of a High Eden or Clare Valley Aussie Riesling. — 10 years ago

November-harvested, botrytised Chardonnay. Originally a banned style in Vire-Clesse but allowed now. Warm honey, manzanilla, white port. 100g RS, 4g acidity. Balanced, lively. #viréclessé #chardonnay #botrytis — 8 years ago
Refreshing, refined so very Rosé. Beautiful rose, gold colour with rose petal and strawberry on the nose. Grapefruit, pear, cherry. Well structured with great vinosity and minerality. Absolutely beautiful. Ooo la la! 50pn 50ch dosage 4g/L — 9 years ago

$12.95 and only 4g/L of sugar, great tannin, lots of fruit, you can't go wrong. — 11 years ago
Discovered at Wally's tasting last week. Really nice structure. A little oxidized with good acidity. 4g/L dosage. Great value for money — 9 years ago
Intense minerality and floral notes. Such an elegant and effortless finish. 4g/l extra brut. Sophisticated Champagne. — 10 years ago
Solid Wine. If "First Growth" I'd draw comparisons to Haut Brion...and then blended with a Cali Cult — 10 years ago

First wine from 4G's 2012 vintage. Tasted at winery. This is an absolutely gorgeous blend of Syrah, Cab Sav and PV and one of the most memorable wines I've ever tasted. Only 3,745 bottles produced. This wine has it all for me: huge gorgeous aromas of dark fruit, leather, black tea, underbrush. Mouthfeel is rich and velvety, taste is complex and harmonious blend of the aromatic notes above. So much depth. Masculine but refined and entirely in control. Finish is long and reminds me of the fade-out at the end of a favorite song that you want to play on loop. Approachable today but will age beautifully. No one seems to know about this producer yet but it is destined for greatness. I only wish the price tag was more accessible. — 8 years ago
