Wonderful, complex and full even after 30 years. Tannins still crisp and adds to length of finish. Was not expecting that. Love old french Bordeaux's so consider my review biased. — 7 years ago
Mahogany color with molasses, caramel, espresso, bittersweet chocolate and subtle baking spice aromas. On the palate it's full bodied, viscous, and very persistent with a supple mouth feel that's beautifully balanced with a penetrating acidity that keep it from being cloying and persistent with very good acidity that keeps it from being cloying and provides balance. It shows very sweet flavors of molasses, honey-dipped figs, dates, caramel, and baking spice nuanced citrus note with a kiss of oxidation that adds to its allure and complexity. Held up very well for a 30 year old wine. Took about 1-2 hours to really open up and hit its peak. Finished by hour 3 as it seemed to tail off. Very cool drinking a Lafite. — 8 years ago
A good very Chateauneuf. Still young but it opens up after 30-45 minutes. — 9 years ago
Rich nutty notes with an incredibly long finish — 10 years ago

70% chard, 30% pinot noir. Disgorgement June 2014. #love — 7 years ago
Found this bottle in my parent's wine closet and had to open it. I don't have the appropriate vocabulary to describe, but a special wine much different from the $10-$30 bottles I may drink typically. — 8 years ago
Un Xeres exceptionnel, âgé de presque 43 ans! D'une complexité ahurissante — 11 years ago
This producer!!!! Amazing! — 7 years ago
Stored since bottling in Bordeaux and recorked/topped up in 1999. Tasted like Wine from start to finish but not without its ups and downs. Interestingly after 30 minutes open you really got a beautiful complex wine with an exceptionally long finish and faint but discernible structure. Mature but interesting and classically Bordeaux. — 7 years ago
Blue fruits; acai and blueberry. Some oak. Drinks smooth, even now. Great wine for under $30. — 8 years ago
surprisingly dark color for a 30 year old wine. Red fruit and cassis with tobacco and leather notes. Drinking amazing right now with many years ahead. What Cali cab can be... At least made a generation ago. Wow! — 8 years ago
Dark inky color with a purplish rim.
Oaky nose with plums, blackberries, wood, vanilla, vanilla, vanilla (did I say vanilla?), earth, spices and black pepper.
Full bodied, smooth and bold with nice legs.
Fruity on the palate with blackberries, figs, cherries, plums, earth, oak, vanilla, dirt and peppercorn.
Nice finish with big tanning and black pepper.
Awesome wine with a great mouth feel, that can be enjoyed by itself. I paired it with Parmesan cheese, crackers and great company. Drinkable now, but will be even better in 3 to 5 years.
A blend of 60% Monastrell, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Syrah. Each was fermented individually, and then aged for 18 months separately, in new French and American oak barrels. After blending, it sat for over a month in steel tanks before bottling.
15.5% (Wow!) Alcohol by volume. — 9 years ago

Heavy caramel and nutty flavors with a hint of dried fruit. A very long and delicious finish. — 7 years ago
