On the purple side with slight rim variation. Chocolate, red fruits and vanilla on the nose. Cherries and developing minerality, smooth yet firm tannins, medium body; finish with ripe fruit and rustic Italian oak. Well balanced and a go-to classic chianti. Yum! — 8 years ago

The purple-magenta '10 Bodega Catena Zapata Malbec 'High Mountain Vines' adorns both the nose and the palate with black raspberry, fig, oaky vanilla, mocha and spice. Nicely focused and finishes with ripe tannins and long length. An easy drinker that begs for a slab of red meat. — 11 years ago
