Straw with aromas of young stone and tropical fruit, with some spice notes. On the palate flavors of unripe green apple and melon, heavy oak mingled with strong spices. Acidity seems too high and somewhat out of balance. Pass.

Light straw in color with a yellow tint.

Oaky on the nose with vanilla, wood, lemons, limes, grapefruits and white pepper.

Full bodied with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with vanilla, oak, lemons, light green apples, grapefruits, cream and limes.

Medium plus on the finish with almonds and limes.

A nice California Chardonnay. More than a little Oaky, as many are from the region. Tasty and approachable, of mostly secondary flavors with a Nice buttery mouthfeel.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

Good wine - not very oak-y. Would definitely drink again.

Breaking out the Xmas gifts, not too bad.
"Since 1883, five generations of our family have handcrafted fine wines that express the very best of our vineyards and winemaking expertise. Our Estate Grown Morning Fog Chardonnay is named for the morning coastal fog pushed by Pacific wind streams into the bowl of the San Francisco Bay and lured inland by Livermore Valley’s unique East-West orientation. This daily phenomenon moderates the climate to produce excellent, beautifully balanced Chardonnay. Planted on various Wente clones, which are all harvested and vinified separately, the variation within the vineyards adds to the complexity of the wine. Recognized as “California’s First Family of Chardonnay”,our family was the first in California to produce a varietally labeled Chardonnay made from our Wente clone. Today, many of the great Chardonnay vineyards in California are planted with the Wente clone, which originated from our family’s estate."

Buttery, toasty, somewhat clunky, overripe yellow peach, honey, vanilla Apple. Great value, from a viticultural institution
