A good year for this wine. Unbelievably inconsistent year to year. Cheap

Fruit-forward. Dried cherry, red berry, black tea, dried oregano, subtle tobacco. Prevalent tannin, nice finish though slightly reminiscent of cough syrup in the aftertaste. Paired nicely with 18-month Gouda.

Tommasi Viticoltori is a family viticultural company founded in 1902 and located in Pedemonte village in the heart of Valpolicella Classico region. A blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon from a single-vineyard site called Rompicollo, which benefits from a Southern exposure. Dark Ruby color with aromas of berry fruit. The palate shows cherry and blackberry with sweet herb spice, slight notes of raisins on soft tannins. The finish is medium with an earthy mineral taste. Tremendous value.

Still strange to me. 13% and almost rs sweet with some strange herbal notes. I think I don't like Slovenian oak so much.

This had been in storage for 5 years. We rescued it just in time. Of course it’s very smooth 8 years in the bottle. The grapyness faded by the second pour and left a pleasing balanced semi rich wine.

Deep plum and raisin fruit profile. Herbs, black tea and tobacco on the nice soft finish. Big wine but quite approachable. Both varietals are very well integrated. Excellent QPR!
