This striking blend of Beaujolais Gamay and Côte d'Or Pinot Noir offers cool scents of black cherry and licorice and a noble rusticity to its very ripe, plush flavors of black raspberry and spices energized by saline minerality and a note of granite. Broad tannins won't prevent early enjoyment. (Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2018) $25

Moderate reddish purple. Aromatic with raspberry, black cherry, violets, and hints of cloves. Exuberant dark fruit on the palate with balanced acidity and surprising tannic structure. Liger-Belair weds biodynamic viticulture to his non-interventionist style of wine making to produce his plump style blending “les deux terres” (the two lands) with 75% Gamay from his Moulin-à-Vent cru Beaujolais parcel and 25% Pinot from Bourgogne parcels. This lovely wine is miles away from Beaujolais Nouveau and a fantastic example of the “serious wine” that can be produced there. $25.

Perfumed on the nose with cherry cola, herbs, potpourri, dried rose petals, and menthol. On the palate pretty acidic with ripe cherries and plums.
