Terrific. Loved it at our return to our favorite local Italian restaurant.

Sipping Fine Wine

From the makers of Sassicaia, Deep Ruby with red & black fruits and floral aromas of this 60% Cab Sauv 40% Merlot blend. On the palate flavors of cherry, currants and blackberry with cinnamon, licorice, cacao and earthy notes, well integrated. Fine tannins, approachable, a wine with a solid structure, elegant and smooth, long finish, great mouth feel ending with fruit and spicy oak. Decant! Will age well over next 5 years. Tasting Sample.

Not bad but not mindblowing. Bit jammy.

Lovely and lively. Very light body (almost Pinot like). Bright acidity. Medium tannins. Enjoying this one.

Maybe it will open up with a few hours of air or maybe it needs a few more years but at the moment really disappointing. Mainly sour fruit and tannin and then an oaky leathery finish. Would be disappointed had I spent $14 rather than $44.

After decanting for a while, this wine was a marvellous blend of being smooth, rich and fruity. I can’t imagine how delightful this vintage will be in another 5 years time.

Wine o'clock watch pairing ...

Mid-2000s Omega Speedmaster Reduced II 3539.50.

This Guido needs a lot more time for my taste. It opens with promising barnyard aromas that subside and give way to oak -- which are fairly dominant in my opinion. Unripe red fruits, a mineral/metallic cherry taste (I know, makes no sense). Medium bodied, medium alcohol, double dry tannins. Finish of sour cherry.

I will buy another bottle to hold for 2-3 years and expect I'll score it 2 points higher meanwhile in Sept 2020, it's a 91+ on my scale.
