Dried violets, lavender, dusty blackberry and sage emerge from the 2020 Cannonau di Sardegna Riserva. It’s silky in texture, cool-toned and crisp. Ripe wild berries cascade across a vibrant, acidic core. A subtle coating of fine tannin lingers as the 2020 finishes pleasantly chewy and long. $22.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, January 2024)

Nose of sandalwood. Lots of strawberries and cherries. Light tannins. This one is lighter- bodied than others I’ve had. Complimented nicely the Pasta Amatriciana.
