These old 70's are the gems of CA wines! May they live forever!

Happy birthday to me! Still in great shape - the wine that is! Great nose, only a hint of oxidation, solid acid, and still some nice jammy fruit.

If I'd had the foresight (and the $$$) in 1978 I would have bought a whole case of this wonderful stuff. Still going strong, good cork, no sign of drying out. Paul Draper, you are a genius !

1975 vintage, 11.9% abv. This wine never ceases to amaze, with apparently unlimited aging potential. Deep color, smooth and unctuous without the least sign of drying out. Proof that high alcohol is not the way to greatness! PS, the label says "to approach maturity it should be given at least five years of bottle age."
