Lighter than any other Rhys I’ve had. Doesn’t make it bad but not right in my wheelhouse either. Great fruit and quality though. Served blind I called it Oregonian Pinot.

Pretty closed. Not a bad bottle per say, but I couldn’t get the fruit to emerge even with lots of air. Hold for a few more yrs.

This is the Porcupine Hill. Apparently from a well placed but newly planted block of the Bearwallow vineyard. Smaller production and more expensive. But I'm not sure I like it better. It's more linear and less fleshy than the 2013 Bearwallow, showing more basic black fruit scents and just a touch of cedary wood in contrast to the Bearwallow's more exotic spice. Possibly the more skeletal material is just leaving this one more backwards but no question the Bearwallow is super fun today and this one is more like "promising."
