The first Oyster Bay vines were planted in 1988, taking its name from the local Oyster Bay, situated in the picturesque headlands of the Marlborough Sounds. Ripe stone fruit aromas and citrus notes. On the palate apple flavors with oak and creamy mineral tones. Medium finish, not overly complex, good value. Tasting Sample.

No Malo. Has some acidic bite. More food friendly.

Another Kiwi wine this week - because why not! I remember when I was at Uni, if I managed to have Oyster Bay or Wither Hills in my glass then it was a very good day!

I actually picked this wee bottle up as I needed some white wine to go into a meal I was making from the Dish Magazine - a chicken and silverbeet pasta. Always cook with a decent wine because most the time you have some leftover to sip on while cooking - so you may as well enjoy it!

This 2015 Chardonnay was on special at Liquorland for $15 - bargain! It's a fairly vibrant yellow in the glass. Notes of honey, vanilla, banana and toasty grapefruit come through on the nose. Creamy fruit flavours are in abundance on the palate with a nice balance of fruit and nutty oak.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

Light and easy to drink but I much prefer Oyster Bay's Sauvignon Blanc...

Tangy, tasty, grapefruit; enjoyed with sushi. Classic New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.

A nice and dry white. Goes great with my husband's Greek Walnut meringue cake. I also enjoyed one of this winery's reds, though I can't remember which. 😅 Imported by Delegat USA, Inc.
