Put the 2013 vintage up against the 2014 Tignanello... and it almost won. Big and bold, lots of complexity... lots of layers. What an amazing wine, considering it's the secondary wine from this producer. I'd rather drink lucente than tig.

Ditto my last notes, but I'll add that this is probably as good as it gets in terms of a gateway Italian for those who only drink Cali Cabs.

I knew I was going to enjoy this immediately, but it took a 45 minute meander before it really got there. Modern, but maintains an authentic SuperTuscan style, if that can actually be a thing... suffice to say, I wouldn't call it international, but oak and ripe fruit make their presence known. Plush, dark fruit of a medium weight meets lively acidity, with a noticeable, but not imposing amount of tannin. The balance helps draw your focus to the secondary notes of Genoa and even Finocchiona, along with plenty of spices, and tertiary cedar and cocoa powder.

Bright cherry and spice dominate this Super Tuscan. Not a killer wine but enough subtle tannins to make this a very drinkable everyday wine.

This is second time following 2014 almost one year ago. This is completely different because 2014 was tasted at new vintage release, but this 2013 has 2 years longer storage. And it is also one of the reason that 2013 is good vintage. Complex oak aroma with mint flavor, concentrated black fruits and a bit bitter chocolate flavor, while 2014 was less concentrated without bitterness. After a hour, raisin flavor also can be felt. Enough tanning. @4300, Uki, 161101-171111

Jammy blackberry fruit, pencil lead, old books, some pepper on the tongue. Like most big name super Tuscans around this price range, it's intriguing but has difficulty fully coming together. A bit heavy on the wood tannins.
