1990 Solaia. K’s work convention dinner dtla. This wine was gorgeous. No decanting. Earthy, rounded, balanced.

Definitely needed time to breathe, but still found it a bit one-dimensional and not as complex as I originally hoped with Tuscan wines. Full-bodied, saturated red-purple color, bouquet of black cherries, plum and berries. Very silky with soft tannins.

Jul 24th, 20181990 Marchesi Antinori Solaia Super Tuscan. Gj big group dinner while B&M Sh were visiting. This was a fave of the night. Much more forgiving than the '02 Harlan out of magnum (at first and for a while) and with a nice complexity. Really enjoyed.
