Perry and Carolyn Butler moved to California in 1982, from Britain and later in 1997 Founded Juslyn, name derived from Justine-the Butlers' daughter-and Carolyn. A blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc & 2% Petit Verdot. Aromas of red and black fruits with floral spice. Big flavors in this Bordeaux blend of ripe berry fruits with sweet notes. Rustic tannins that bite, medium finish ending with alcohol burn. No aging potential drink now, a bit pricy.

Side by side comparison of 2009 Juslyn. Very impressed. The Perry's Blend is a very good wine. The Spring Mountain Cab is sensational. Though Robert Parker liked the Perry's Blend even more, so what do I know? Seriously though, I highly recommend both wines but the Spring Mountain is especially worth seeking out.

Delicious. Excited to see how this matures in the next 3-5 years.

We had the 2009 Vintage on 2/22-23/22. Just a terrific wine with tastes of blackberry, plum, cassis and spice. Tannins all smoothed out. Full bodied and fruit forward.

The aromas of cedar, some spices and a little fruit greet your nose, upon tasting, silky smooth ripe blackberries and a touch of vanilla linger in your mouth, giving way to a nice long finish. Tannins are well balanced in this wine.

Nose is reticent. Think we committed infanticide - clearly has good bones but need times to settle. Nice chocolate overtones. Tannins tight - good structure but needs time to even out. Give it 5 years and it has major potential.
