An serendipitous find in a Eurocave left by a prior owner of a friend’s house. What luck. Thanks to those peeps for leaving it and thanks to the Hirsch family for making great wine!

What business do I have putting a score to this wine (or any wine for that matter)? It is still massive 15 years into its life; ripe dark fruit, sturdy tannins, and more extraction than modern iterations of Hirsch. So maybe it isn't my favorite wine tonight. But it is history in a bottle. The first estate bottling of Hirsch Vineyards. Cheers to that
