This mature Barbaresco 🍷- 1982 #Gaja Barbaresco Sorì Tildìn - reminds me of how wine from #Piedmont can light up one’s sensory dashboard: a swirl of flowers, mint, and cherries on a medium weight frame, accented by a lovely earthiness. Concentrated and expressive, with a silky finish that turns a bit spicy after some time. The Sorì Tildìn vineyard is named after Angelo Gaja’s grandmother 👵 , and this refined effort is due tribute.

Color showed much more youthful than the Sori San Lorenzo, as did the aromatics, more road tar than floral, big, rich, with amazing structure still (suggesting another 10-20+ years of evolution in front of it), long, lingering finish, great Barbaresco!!!

Tasted at Siletti in Gaja Barbaresco Sorì Tildìn line up: 1978, 1982, 1983, 1986, 1987 and 1989. The 1982 is clearly more "Parkerized" compared to the older vintages. Great wine.

'82 vintage - still very youthful and tannic at first. We decanted which i felt benefitted the wine. The bottle opened up beautifully. Tar and roses and power. The finish lingered for several minutes. So so pretty and it is just getting started. Tonight was a leaf day.
