Pretty incontestably considered to be the very best Sancerre, and it did indeed show its singularity. It’s intensely tropical and perfumed with a waxy and weighty texture. Shows ripe tropical fruit, banana, lilies, savory herbs and a touch of alcohol but it doesn’t detract and subsides with air. It’s exceptionally deep and has such presence on the midpalate with great cut and a seamless transition to finish. There is so much material here and it clearly is built to age, and definitely needs plenty of time in the decanter as it showed best after 2 hours.

This is the Sancerre which makes my heart beat faster. Hauntingly elegant, and vibrantly resplendent. Vatan is on it.

This is spectacular on the nose. Big but refined with lime, anise, melon, cool slate. The texture is great- rounded, succulent and polished. The minerality and length is something else. Truly the Raveneau of Sancerre. Wonderful.

Wonderfully textured sb from the master! Barrel fermenting sb is the way to go! Citrus, hay, lemon grass and wet stone... gjelina is also a great spot with a small but solid list

This is still painfully young but so damn good showing so much energy & intensity with mineral, crushed wet rock, saline, dried herbs & ginger.
