Wine had some nice refinement but either drank a bit too young or simply a too broadly blended Hermitage with lesser Syrah vines. Happy to try but not was I was hoping to get even for a Guigal price point.

What a pleasure to drink! Julie immediately loved it on PnP and she’s right. Then we went out to grab a quick bite and left it alone for 1.5 hrs and it’s just stretching its legs. A great wine, even for the price. With more bottle age it will just get better. Love it.

Meaty smokey blackberries with olive tapenade, forest floor, a hint of blueberries and iron. This was fantastic from start to finish.

Needed more decanting, plum, simple tannins. Good with juicy steak.

Jun 28th, 2016Subdued nose, but delicious. Halfway between old world and new world / Syrah, with good fruit and savory balance. Needs decanting. Not a great value, but decently made.
