Domaine Sylvain Pataille
Bourgogne Aligoté

Per Bianca of PBB: This wine is nervy and vibrant, and the kind of wine I would describe as incredinly lively and light on its feet. It has notes of grapefruit zest with ripe citrus, apricot, ginger, and wild herbs.
Me: I’d add minerality and a wine that feels very precise. Laser focused almost.

My first foray into Aligote and it was really enjoyable! A bold nose, with notes of cumquat, salt, a slight vegetal funk and delicate floral aromas poured forth from a medium body and a golden hue similar to Chardonnay. The palate has a pleasantly bold acidity, with a prominent minerality well balanced with notes of leman, salt, and tart yellow fruits. Great first foot into a new grape!

Mineral driven nose, with notes of crisp yellow apple. Light medium body, bold acidity but not overpowering, with flavors of starfruit, yellow apple, and a slightly dry finish. Minerality throughout, but it’s mot overly dry, very enjoyable, with a mouth that feels golden, and a body that benefits from a nice chill!
