Le Grand Roc Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc

This bottle didn’t impress me at $27 from Garagiste. Seemed a bit disjointed. Drinkable enough with fish though.

This Sancerre has one foot in the litter box and one foot in chalky soil. Intense nose has a bit of cat pee, but also some intense and bright minerality and ultra crisp gooseberry fruit with a squeeze of freshly cut lemon. Round yet very lively in the mouth. Great interplay of sharpness and mineral texture. Long finish and nicely-integrated acids. A wine you can love and yet not like a little bit.

All things Sancerre. Citrus, melon, acidity plus a plush texture.
