Double mag...drinking partner described as "spiny", lighter/thinner than I would have expected

Part of the lineup in a recent tasting of 09 csj. Not all that great. Funky. I have had multiple vintages of fourrier csj and it's always a disappointment

Super dark color, very different from the Gevrey Chambertin VV, which is much more red ruby colored. Super earth driven, with a very dark fruit profile, again, wildly different from the GC VV, which is more glossy and fruit driven. Still quite young but drank pretty well after a few hours in the decanter. Probably 10 years out until the beginning stages of maturity. A special wine but for the $ the GC VV at 1/5 the price is the no-brainier.
