Montée de Tonnerre Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay

Not bad, table that moved twice before settling on a floor, and spending 45 minutes with the list. I stand corrected...

Nice but not quite at the level I was hoping. Maybe a bit past its prime? Quite a deep yellow in the glass. Lots of body. Has a bit of a pronounced lanolin quality. Would not have guessed Chablis, doesn’t have the acid or cut. Was hoping it would come together more on day 2 but never quite got to where I was hoping.

Nearly perfect for a white wine to me. Just enough richness but not too much, to go with the great acidity (softened a bit now) and citrus flavors.

Advanced, premox. Hasn’t yet killed it but life is too short so I opened another bottle from same year.

This couldn’t be showing better. Glorious. From the moment we opened, it was a sensual beauty. Just entering the tertiary phase. Highly recommended. One of the best QPR I’ve had.

Really, really nice Chablis with some good age. Not secondary at all yet, though. Textured and smooth with incredible minerality and acid. Very long finish. Mouth filling and delicious.

Lemon oil, saline, flint, oyster shell. Med body, med + acid. Excellent, classic chablis 👌

In a really good spot

Pretty awesome chablis, enjoyed next to Mont de Milieu at Perla during its final week on Minetta Ln. Each wine was great, but this is the one I'm more curious to watch age.
