Very reductive on open, as Mencia can be. Some tar. But in time ripe plums, cherry, and ripe but transparent fruit emerges. Cherry tart and patisserie flavors. Nice gentle extraction- almost a light grenache character.

2020: gorgeous deep ruby color. Bloody meat predominantly on nose. Plum, more meat, and herb (sage) on palate. Dry tannins. Seems more northern Rhône to me, which was unexpected.
