Classic Rioja. Still purple, mid transparent. Plum, raspberry, vanilla, oak, spice. Dry, mid+ acidity, mid- dissolved tannin, round body. Fruit dried, oaky flavour filled, acidity stand outs to some extent, classics. Surprising price of £13 (Sainsbury Taste the difference). abv13.5

2011 is a very good, if not great, vintage in Rioja, but this bottle is not a good representation. While the fruits are strung nicely by vibrant acidity, neither the nose nor the palate shows the complexity and concentration from a dry and warm vintage.
Very enjoyable still.
