Dark ruby color with purple highlights. Aromas of mushroom, forest floor, moss and smoke. Red plum/currant/cranberry fruit on the palate with hints of tar, black pepper and tobacco. Large amount of pyrazines on the extremely earthy finish. Plus acidity and medium tannins. Quite tertiary and funky. Better with a decant or on the second day.

Loire valley is exceptional. Chinon is no exception. This cab Franc reveals red berries and with pleasing tannins and a smooth finish.
