Pretty nice wine. Elegant, a bit of spice and toasty qualities. Not a knockout pinot but good for its price range.

Founded in 1973 in the Sonoma Valley, CSJ produces a portfolio of wines as well as vineyard designated wines, and the flagship Cinq Cépages Cabernet Sauvignon. 100% Pinot Noir with red berry aromas and notes of black tea. On the palate cherry and strawberry flavors with cacao and leather spice. Lively acidity, well balanced on lingering finish ending with a touch of mineral tones.

Garnet hue with medium-plus saturation. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, chocolate, earthy, graphite, oak, raspberry, smoke, and tobacco. Medium-full body; medium (yet firm) tannins; and medium-high acidity. A rustic, elegant nose; a full, rich palate; and a bold, lingering finish. Several years in the bottle bring tertiary notes to the nose, but nevertheless a silky and elegant finish. Made from 100% Pinot Noir, aged for 7 months in 100% French oak (25% new) before bottling.

Rich pinot noir, some nice notes of plum and tobacco. Definitely far from the driest pinot

Notes of caramel. Very nice and easy to drink by itself.

Quick finish. Cherries, vanilla, and earthy spiciness. Got it on sale for $12. Good score.
