On this Saturday night I have opened the 2015 Château Rauzan-Ségla. After having the 2016 I had to open this 2015 to compare the two. This one is a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. Surprisingly similar in blend to the 16' but this one is much bigger yet complex and well integrated.

On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, plum, black currant, licorice, tobacco, menthol, olives and wet gravel.

On the palate there is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, integrated toasted oak, chocolate, tea leaf and forest floor.

This is another beautiful wine that is full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel, medium+ acidity and medium + grippy mouth coating tannins that has a long black fruit oak finish. Loved having these two wines relatively close together where the 16' had a unique finesse about it and this 15' is bigger yet well classy. I hope everyone's weekend is going well and we are staying safe and healthy. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have fun. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷

Loved this…had with great foodie friends in CT who know how to pick wine. Tenderloins and salad were consumed but I would have been happy with just the wine for dinner.

The 2015 and 16 Margauxs are truely amazing! This could have been any top wine quality wise and was such a pleasure to drink. Already so well integrated...one can only imagine what potential it has.

4Corks is having a virtual chef and wine dinner tonight at our house. We sold kits at the liquor store. They got recipes and grocery list. They cook along with chef and our wine guy talks about the wines. Everyone having a good time. Great food. We have 40 people cooking and drinking along. So fun!

Test driving a .375 bottle. Ripe and fairly easy to drink with a decant. Primary and far from ready but it was still pleasurable in a hedonistic way.
