The 2015 Pape-Clément has a fragrant bouquet with quite plush, generous but well defined red berry
fruit mixed with rose petal and incense, smoke and cigar humidor following later. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannin, crisp and focused.
A seam of graphite emerges toward the finish. This is linear and correct at the moment. This should develop into a very fine Pessac-Léognan, one full of breed and sophistication. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, July 2019)

Best of the graves En Primeur tasting. Blackberries, creamed black raspberries, dark cherry and good integration already taking place.

Deep ruby. Nose was a blast of dark berries. Very complex. Cassis, blackberry, sl earth, vanilla on the palate. Nice acidity. Very smooth with long finish. This is a really great Bordeaux from a 13th century vineyard.

Bright, loved the honeydew and apricot notes. It’s crisp and went well with the scallops.

Inviting aromas on the nose, subtle but it’s there. Quite silky balanced finish with Med+ tannins, med acidity with dark fruits, some chocolate and truffle tasted. The merlot really does a nice job smoothing this wine. Hood to drink now or cellar for longer.

Beautiful wine. The attack keeps changing and goes on and on. Complexity to spare.
