Blend of Cab Sauv, Merlot & Cab Franc. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, sweet spice, floral and herb notes. On the palate flavors of ripe blackberry, currants and juicy cherry with notes of cacao, cedar and herb spice. Well balanced with acidity, fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, cedar and sweet earthy mineral character. Nice! Will still age a bit!

An impressive wine especially considering the vintage. Two hours of air opened this up nicely and though not terribly complex it was delicious and balanced. Medium bodied with dark red fruits, cedar, earth, and vegetable garden. Open these over the next couple years.

Medium deep garnet , quite thin ruby , garnet rim . Quite spicy and dark fruited nose , blackcurrant , cassis , coffee , grafite . On the palate quite juicy with those dark cassis fruits , blackberry , and coffee touches . This has a roundness and fleshiness that is really appealing . Slightly saline with grafite , coffee and cacao touches . The tannins are round and integrated , good refreshing acidity . Decent length , this is drinking well now . Drink now and over the next 5-10 years, I don’t see this being particularly long lived but it is very enjoyable .

Ready and easy to drink due to the vintage. Lacking the backbone of big years. Excellent daily drinker nonetheless.

Oak. Stable, leather aroma. Tobacco. Very traditional. Wine lovers like. Black currant and blue and black berry. Spicy. Soft tanning. Complexity. 2012 @2200, xiaduo, 210206-210306

Shiny dark ruby with a thin translucent rim. Nose of earth, smoked meat, cherry tobacco, and a hint of bell pepper. Medium plus bodied. Somewhat nutty wood palate with the green pepper emerging. A minimal amount of acidity at the back and end of the taste. Tannins medium minus. Alcohol presents as slightly higher than its posted 13ABV. A very nice solid Cru Classe from Saint Julien.

Despite not much love from the critics, this has nice blackberry fruit with well integrated tannins and the taste of terroir that screams Bordeaux....winner!
