Happy birthday Chris! Soft and deep notes of pencil shavings. Dark cherries and cooked red fruit. Soft and elegant perfect balance. What a treat

Graphite. Cassis. Cigar box. Lightly dusty but still fucking delicious. To quote the Somm "this wine is fucking perfect."

Well someone had to do it so I proposed myself 😋👍 Really something of a kind, power, rich and elegance with a fragile touch of innocence 😃

Decanted and opened beautifully over 2 hrs. Initial nose was perfumed but overwhelmed by new oak. Palate was tight and ripe. After opening up the new oak mostly blew off showing incredible complexity dominated by ripe black, red, and some blue fruit, along with mounds of flowers, truffle, smoke, graphite, and earth. The palate was full but perfectly balanced. Great complexity and concentration. The structure was still very sturdy with silky tannins and taught acid. The length was tremendously long. This was in great shape and will only continue to get better. #chateaulafite #pauillac #bordeaux #premiergrandcru #firstgrowth #cabernetsauvignon #ctbucklinwine

More aromatic than the '85. Red fruits on the nose, light on the finish and balance.

Dill, leather, cassis, spice. Some mineral on finish, but a touch empty on midpalate

Wet earth, petroleum with a long bitter finish. This is better than the '85, however I'm suspect of the storage over the past 30 years.
