Monthly WTF guys blind tasting group. This month was our annual, and famed, Left Bank vs Right Bank theme. All wines served blind as usual. Started off with a Rosé and a champagne. Great night.

Even with the couple hour decant, this was very young tasting (no surprise). Cedar and underbrush, blackberries, cassis, mix of red and black fruits...finishes with bay leaf. I’d hold for 7+. I called this ‘13 Left Bank.

Medium ruby with medium intensity developing aromas of mint, tombacco, cassis, blackberry and cedar. Dry with high acidity, high tannins, and medium alcohol. Full bodied with pronounced flavors of cassis, cedar, tobacco, wet stone, vanilla and toast. Very good quality. Well balanced and showing very fine tannins

Very nice nose of blackberry, strawberry, cedar, tobacco. Bright ruby colored. Add in some plum. Nice mouthfeel, bit chalky but nice. Entering a good drinking window.

It’s a great call to step things up for the weekend. There’s more structure and finish here than your everyday vino. It’s not too complex but very satisfying. Love it

Dark ruby color. Dark fruit on the nose with wet stone and dark fruit on the palate. Smooth intense finish that lingers. This wine took over an hour in the decanter to open up. It was worth the wait.
