Top Notes For
"Odedi"

Dark ruby in color with a cloudy reddish rim.

Nice nose of blueberries, cherries, currants, raspberries, earth, green vegetables, beef jerky, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, dark coffee, pencil lead, black tea and peppercorn.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with tart cherries, cranberries, raspberries, strawberries, tobacco leaf, spices, graphite, bitter herbs, black tea, vegetables, forest floor, earth, peppercorn, leather and vinaigrette.

Long tart finish with firm tannins and tart pomegranates.

This 4 year old right bank Bordeaux is still very young and unbalanced. Showing great complexity and mouthfeel with big tannins and a tart ending.

Needed 6 hours to open up and that wasn't enough to calm it down. Needs 5 to 10 years in the bottle to chill and balance out.

Wine Spectator 88 points.

I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.

Grapes are grown on clay and limestone soils. A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.

14% alcohol by volume.

86 points.

$35.

Meaty. Good flavors of dark fruit, graphite edges, medium to low tannins but still had enough structure to hold up just lacking a long long finish.
