Champeaux Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Drinking well that was consistent with my prior notes

Rich & sappy dark red fruits with sweet spice, earth & notes of mineral & floral

This was all about dark red fruits, earth, mushroom & spice. Nice Qpr for a 20 yr old burg

Upon opening this was pretty skunky. I double decanted this and gave it about 4 hours of air and the stink finally started to dissipate. Underneath there is nice fruit here, but there is still a kind of a tar note. Maybe too reductive and too much SO2.

Needed 2 hours of air for the funk to blow off. After that, pretty solid.

Intoxicating nose, pale color, and falling apart on the palate. Some found the funk overbearing
