First Bure Family wine for us. Deep ruby red. Layered nose with notes of black cherries, gravel, cigar box and cassis. Excellent acidity with medium tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Layered palate showing its maturity and finesse. Lush and dark with layers of cigar box, dark powdered cocoa, blackberries, black plums, Christmas spices, aniseed and fruit cake. Long finish with a bit of harshness on the backend. Definitely need to use wake up wine next time. Drink till 2024.

Pop & Pour. Getting better as it matures in the bottle. Simply that much more accessible. Delicious!

Getting better. Wondering if it will be that much better in two years?

09' Bure Family Thirteen. We decanted it for 90 minutes. Very dark red in color. It looks brand-new. Palate is a monster even after a two hour decanting. Primarily all black fruits with a hint of blue fruits. RIPE- plum, chocolate, & tannins /acidity that are bold in this 100% Cab. 10'+ years in this bottle. Luc Morlet winemaker . I'm gonna wait another 18 months before we open another.

Big, but only 6 years old so I'd say that's expected. Some years are definitely left on this #cabernet. #napa #wine
